COTSWORKS, INC., a manufacturer of rugged optical elements including active and passive components, is beginning another phase of expansion within its Cleveland, OH facility at the end of this year. This phase will be implemented over several months, but will not interfere with COTSWORKS engineering or manufacturing operations.

The expansion consists of adding to the Sales and Marketing footprint and reorganizing the Quality, Finance, Purchasing, and IT areas to create a more coherent workflow that accommodates recent growth in those areas. COTSWORKS is also expanding its Design Engineering lab space by roughly 60% to add room for additional Design Validation Testing (DVT) stations and a dedicated controlled area for engineering inventory.

Finally, COTSWORKS is expanding and upgrading its Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory space to enable better optimization of the factory layout and increase manufacturing productivity. This includes a 30% larger dedicated space for warehousing, inspecting, and packaging of components coming into the building from vendors along with product leaving the building as shipments to customers. No critical process equipment will be moving during this expansion, nor will any production processes or workflows be affected requiring any requalification.

COTSWORKS is looking forward to a strong 2023 and utilizing its improved facility to continue serving its customers with the highest quality opto-electronic products.
