Advanced electronic warfare (EW), SIGINT, and ISR military aerospace applications require industry-standard compliance through VPX style chassis and embedded computing boards. The COTSWORKS RJ optical transceiver has been used for many years and in many applications on embedded computing applications due to its PICMG compliant mechanical package, rugged and reliable operation, and JEDEC compliant solderable electrical connector.

The RJ-10G-CWDM optical transceiver has a maximum height of 10.0 mm and mounts to a SOSA compliant PCB with two screws. It supports the ITU defined CWDM wavelengths and the 100G IEEE 10×10 standard. The CWDM EML lasers have a robust output power and are coupled with a wideband high-quality receiver to offer link budgets at more than 11 dBm over industrial temperature. The transceivers also support Digital Diagnostics for built-in test features.

The RJ transceiver has a duplex LC interface for the inside of box cabling, which can accept COTSWORKS’ LC-R, LC-T, and LC801 products. COTSWORKS’ LC-R features a screw-mount attach, the LC-T features a rugged metal tab, and the LC801 converts the LCs to ARINC801 interfaces. The RJs can be multiplexed to duplex discrete termini at the box level supporting the existing SOSA connector interfaces.
